Within the framework of the Dragon 2 Programme, ESA and NRSCC are providing a
series of advanced thematic training courses on remote sensing applications.
The training courses are held yearly and are hosted by Universities and
Research institutions in P.R. China. So far, a total of four training courses
have been held, two on ocean applications in 2004 and 2007, one on land
applications in 2005 and one on atmospheric remote sensing in 2006.
In 2008 as part of this initiative, PhD students, post-doctoral and research
scientists from P.R. China and other Asian countries interested in Land remote
sensing applications are invited to attend a 6 day advanced training course in
the subject.

Objectives |
|
The objectives of this advanced Dragon training course are:
- To stimulate and support the exploitation of ESA, Chinese and
TPM Earth Observation remote sensing data for land applications
- To introduce available software tools and methods for the
exploitation of these data
- To enhance the academic exchange and cooperation between Asian
and European remote sensing scientists.
As an advanced training course, it is targeted to the Chinese research and
development community, in particular post-doc researchers as well as masters and
PhD students.
