  The Dragon Programme is a cooperation between ESA and the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) of the P.R. China. The 1st Dragon Programme commenced in 2004 and was completed in April 2008. The 2nd Dragon Programme will last for four years and formally commenced at the 2008 Beijing Symposium. Dragon 2 focuses on exploitation of ESA, TPM and Chinese EO data for science and applications development in land, ocean and atmospheric applications. The Programme brings together joint Sino-European teams to investigate 25 thematic projects.
Key Events  

SMOS ESA and NRSCC / MOST announce the opening of the Dragon 3 call for proposals. The call will close on 10 December 2011 and is dedicated to research and application development projects.
       
Envisat ASAR InSAR measurements
Envisat ASAR InSAR measurements have been combined with body wave seismology for the analysis of the 2010 Yushu (Qinghai,China) earthquake. See the results online.
 
       
The Dragon 2 Advanced Training Course in Ocean Remote Sensing will take place from 24 to 28 October 2011 and will be hosted by the State Key Laboratory of Estuarine and Coastal Research, East China Normal University, P.R. China.
 
       
Interferogram showing fault surface breaks
The 2011 Symposium took place from 20 to 24 June in Prague, Czech Republic. The joint teams reported on their results after 3 year's activity. The technical presentations are online (see the programme).
